The pseudo-affluent big spenders are like fool's gold, not gold at all in spite of their glitter. They are just iron pyrite. Are you training your children to be fool's gold? Remember they take their cues from their parents.

Millionaires don't just show up overnight in our society. Most do it slowly but steadily, reaching millionaire status after age fifty.

The best wealth accumulators do everything they can to minimize income as they build net worth. Instead of taking their money home, they plow as much as they can into their businesses, stock portfolios, tax-free municipal bonds and other assets. WHY? Because the government doesn't tax wealth, it taxes income. And the more you bring home for consumption, the more the government takes.

Lars: Re: "Why do you think the semis would be oblivious to a tech correction?"

No, I don't think that is possible. However, the saving grace for these stcoks would be if their fundamentals continue to improve and the stock prices higher and a correction occurs from higher stock prices. All of this assumes the reason for the correction is not threatening to the ongoing bull market.
