I have not gone short yet
at this point i am considering it
and i thank you for your responses

what i hear so far is that AOL longs are not the least bit worried that the 120 billion that T is spending to aquire, plus the many more billion they are spending to upgrade systems will in the end affect AOL's growth rate ( I think you will agree the out of site p/e rest on that growth continuing well into the next millenium)

My thinking is not that AOL will do well
but that T will atleast slow them down and therefore decrease the rate of growth that the stock price currently reflects

well well well

i guess aol does not go up 10 % every week

covered a 25 point pop today

maybe i was just lucky and timed it right

or maybe i am right in my theory that ATT deal marks the begining of a slowing of AOL"s growth rate

should be interesting to see how it all plays out

either way

be careful of irrational exuberence
