Thanks for the note. One other tidbit, an observation by a resident
of Vancouver, that the Asians, in particular the Chinese, who
had bought homes there as a hedge against being driven from Hong Kong
by the Mainland Chinese, have recently started selling them, and are
essentially moving back to China. Suggests that maybe that the
Chinese economy is coming back. It certainly is a murky picture
in that you can find about as many who believe that the deflationary
cycle in Asia is not complete, and that it is coming over here,
as those who believe that Asia is coming back.

Marantette is still on a buy for the gold stock portfolio at this
time.

Incidentally, the gold fund average (gold-eagle) looks pretty good
also, with the index now clearly above the 200 day m.a., for the first
time since late 1996. Let's see what next week brings.
