I feel eBay is better positioned than any of the other first tiers, AOL, YHOO and AMZN in the etailing business, especially the auction niche. AOL and YHOO are too distracted by their other services, especially the contents. AMZN is also very distracted by fulfilling the orders of their book and gift buyers. eBay is the only company that is 100% dedicated to the fulfillment-free business model. It's too early to say who will win the turf war in the end. But eBay is in an excellent position.
