Phone costs? You're right--you can't spend the $4000 because the CDMA cassette is not available.

The sites you referenced list CDMA cassettes, at additional $595 approx., on top of $2,899 for basic phone. With the $495 for the GSM cassette, that's $3,989 (to make a call from either Europe or the US with access to the local network). See, that's not $4,000!
