Iridium Propoganda:

"Technically" what Iridium is saying about the additional long distance charges is true. But that is like them saying that "TechnicallY", when you make an in-country long distance call with SprintPCS, BAM, AT&T, Airtouch, GTE, Nextel, CellularOne, you have to pay airtime PLUS long distance charges as well. While this statement is true, we all know about the "One Rate" plans, and all carriers on the above list offer single rate, NO LONG DISTANCE additional charges service plans. Since these same carriers will be selling the GSTRF service, they will be able to bundle the Long Distance with these One Rate plans as well.

This additional Long Distance charge (and this argument they use it with) was an original assumption and competitive equalizer that Iridium counted on in the early days of their Business Plan. The One Rate plans now available have rendered this equalizer mute. Another nail in the Iridium coffin. (I'm surprised they brought it up again!)
