Craig,
I'll say it's a 700MHZ cryo-cooled chip. Maybe a Pentium III or Celeron 466. Then again, maybe Cyrix has sent him a chip.
I believe he has a K7 as well.

Jim

Craig - Re: "Paul, Anand has been crowing about having a big surprise ready for us all on April 27th. Any idea what he's got? "

I read that "comment" several days ago.

He seems to have a history of "prepping" his audience for a sneak-peak-advanced look at "future" AMD processors.

The Kmart 63 is an example - he received a "loaded & stacked" machine from AMD sporting a 450 MHz Kmart 63 and 2 MegaBytes L3 cache in early December, tested it and posted the benchmarks in mid-December. It was 2 1/2 months later that AMD finally announced the Kmart 63 - but had to JACK UP the voltage just to reach 400 MHz ! As far as I know, 450 MHz Kmart 63 PCs STILL are not available !

So, my guess is we will see a DECKED OUT desKtop 7 review - from a machine given to Anand by AMD.

WHich would put the desKtop 7 launch about 2 1/2 months out in time - as per past AMD performances.
