Thank you for your response. I took your advice and checked out Amazon. It appears to be an ancient art that you practice. One reference was originally published in 1908 and is out of print. All but one of the rest are from the 20's and 30's. I suspect that what you are referring to is mostly acquired experience. I have the P&F book and have made my first pass through it but I don't want to become too "educated." I did pick up a tape reading book by Rollo Tape, a pseudonym for a man named Wycoff, who appears to have been a colorful character. I have learned a lot by lurking these threads lately. I concur with O.J when he said they were filled with a lot of very nice smart people.
