Notice the XAU has exceeded it's long term trendline drawn along the top of the spikes. I suggest that's a sign of bottoming.
Remember this Tom. A correction can be sideways and "time" is as important a factor as a spike down. You could have to time frame right and still miss the bottom buy a mile.
All the best. Do you intend on buying the XAU in some form in June? Is that your plan?
