The error description does not make any recommendations to do any thing. I don't understand the real repercussions of going beyond 8 gigs. What version of PM are you using? I had a big grey graphic on my seventeen gig drive when I had the 108 error message when using version 4.0. When I upgraded to ver 4.01 ...upon execution of PM..it indicated to me that there was a problem with the format of the drive..I think it was something like not starting on an even number/cylinder? or something like that. I do remember that I did not know what PM was talking about.. Bottom line is when it found the problem (ver 4.01 found the problem..ver 4.01 only had the error message) it asked me if I wanted to have it fixed..I answered yes and the error messages disappeared and I had a graphic representation of the partitions on the drive.
