Perry, thanks for the post.

As I have been saying, early last week was the optimal time for jumping into MSFT and DELL. My DELL May 45s (bought for a $1) are looking great. This news by IDC is great for the overall pc sector, CPQ aside.

Something is going on in Redmond and hopefully we will be clued in soon. This Maffei news is just the tip of the iceberg to what I expect is a massive internal power struggle to gain the top spot at MSN. Maffei is human like the rest of us, and most CFOs you talk to have the same aspirations as Maffei - get out of Finance and enter a broader leadership role. My gut feel is that Gates and Ballmer will accommodate him. I would think they have a lot to lose if he left as demonstrated by the veto on his RR move.
