Myth: Although online retailers are making significant investments in acquiring new customers and generating transactions, these retailers show little hope of turning a profit. Reality: While the costs of e-commerce are currently substantial, savvy online retailers say they are investing early to achieve critical mass quickly. Retailers who achieve scale in their customer bases sooner rather than later will be able to reap the rewards of early investment. These rewards include the ability to develop supplemental revenue streams more easily and higher sustainable margins. Lola:)
