(BSNS WIRE) DCH Technology Inc., Expands Fuel Cell Operations
DCH Technology Inc., Expands Fuel Cell Operations

Business Editors

VALENCIA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 1999--Valencia based
DCH Technology, Inc. (OTC BB:DCHT) has announced that beginning
May 1, 1999, it is expanding its Fuel Cell Operations into a new and
larger facility outside of Madison, Wisconsin, to accommodate the
design, development and pilot production operations for its
proprietary Hydrogen Fuel Cells.
This new facility will allow DCH to respond to the increased
demand for Fuel Cells that it has received after unveiling its first
configuration of a hydrogen-fueled Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Fuel
Cell at the 10th Annual National Hydrogen Association Meeting in
Virginia two weeks ago.
This highly successful fuel cell demonstration has resulted in
strong demand for prototype units and DCH is now faced with a higher
demand than initially anticipated, which has forced this expansion to
meet the many requirements for hardware and applications testing.
Stated David Walker, President of DCH Technology, "The demand for
our fuel cells has taken us a little by surprise and serves as an
example to the renewable energy industry that what was once far off,
is now a market reality. Increased enthusiasm for the DCH PEM fuel
cell has accelerated the implementation of our strategic plan."
DCH has a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA),
with the US Dept. Of Energy's Los Alamos National Laboratory to
continue the evolution and improvement of their proprietary fuel cell.
DCH has an exclusive license to manufacture a proven, patented type of
clean energy device.
DCH will present further information on their fuel cell systems
at the upcoming meetings in Lucerne, Switzerland in June and at the
Desert Research Institute International Fuel Cell Conference in Lake
Tahoe. DCH is also one of the industrial sponsors of this conference,
scheduled for the week of October 25, 1999.
Fuel cells convert hydrogen gas into electricity very efficiently
without polluting emissions or noise. Fuel cells are receiving
increasing attention in several markets, ranging from stationary
generators, battery chargers and cars. They are also ideally suited to
work in combination with electric motors as replacements for small
internal combustion engines. There are several emerging markets for
fuel cell powered equipment because of their clean, efficient and
quiet operation.
DCH Technology is a technology development and manufacturing firm
specializing in patented and proprietary gas sensor and safety
products developed at US National Laboratories, that are licensed for
manufacture and sold to industrial and government customers worldwide.
DCH's core technologies include the Robust Hydrogen Sensor, the
Universal Gas Sensor, and the PEM Hydrogen Fuel Cell.
DCH sensors are currently being used by NASA, Westinghouse, Ford,
General Motors, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Allied Signal, and several
other multinational companies.
