Most people will be at small risk for that virus. However, if you do get it, and it does it's deed, you will have quite a headache on your hands.

Don't become paranoid about viruses. Just buy a good anti-virus program and update it regular.

Become paranoid about backing up your data, because YOU will experience a either hard drive crash, accidentally deleted critical data, or files, corrupt files or data....etc....etc..

That WILL happen, believe me. Like PMSWitch says, BACK-UP YOUR DATA regularly.

The 26th is the day the virus is activated if it is already residing in your computer. That's what the date-change strategy is for -- so even if your computer has the virus, it won't be activated.

The antivirus utilities are to keep the virus out of your computer in the first place. Although, from the article, there may be viruses that can get around the utilities.
