I've got mine set to read 200 messages at a time, which is usually all of them, or most of them, given the threads I read. With a cable modem, it's usually plenty fast enough. For other cases, YMMV.

Craig, I have reduced the number of messages because it seems to be very slow lately... I used to get quick response, but something is not as fast. I don't suspect BM, but caching the next download in the background would mean all I have to do is access memory on my own PC. The next download can take as long as it wants!
