I don't know if the stock will take a short-term hit. I would think it should actually go up. It's less than a $1B purchase and they aren't using stock. Global Crossing will finance the acquisition with committed bank financing and cash on hand. The acquisition is expected to be immediately accretive to cash flow. The transaction, which is , expected to be completed within 60 days is subject to certain regulatory and other approvals. Does anyone know if William B. Carter, Jr., former President and CEO of AT&T Submarine Systems, is the brother of the former President of the United States?
