Why not take the least current of the two and reformat, creating a, say, 6 gig FAT 16 partition on it and use that.

It does {edit} sound like a good option if losing the old backup is an option. Less risk than messing with the SCSI drive.

A six gig FAT 16 partition is not an option. The max is 2 gig and change..2.1 or 2.2 gig?? ( NT will work with a 4 gig FAT drive but do not select that option as L&F will most likely only copy files to a 2 gig FAT partition)

You could make a six gig extended with 3 X 2 gig logical drives inside.
