Boy I sparked a lot of responses. Okay, COMS may have had rumors in the past which never materialized but don't you see what's happening here? It's been CONFIRMED that Siemens and ERICY have both been talking buy-outs or big deals with COMS. Now their competitors need to move in and make sure they don't lose out. They're all going to want COMS now. And someone will get them.

COMS mgmt has discussed merger before.

Before 3Com's FYQ1 and Q2 results gave them (false) confidence that they could go it alone, they talked with INTC and Lucent about possibilities.

Sorry to not post references but rumors based on these talks persisted until Lucent bought ASND. Stock has definitely has periods where it moved based on rumor. Simple research of WSJ would show this. But none of the rumors ever came thru.

COMS mgmt, has recently uttered some public statements that they had considered this and rejected it as incorrect path.

FYQ3 results and merger activity in the telecom/data sector has made their previous position untenable.
