The Sun-Netscape Alliance has dubbed its e-commerce road
map for Netscape's e-commerce applications "Full, Speed,
Ahead." The "full" segment includes partnerships with two
personalization vendors, NetPerceptions and Andromedia,
which markets the Like Minds software. Both are smaller
rivals to BroadVision and signal that Sun has dropped
Netscape's internal efforts to build personalization into the
software.

NETP will arrive this week despite debuting last friday.

>Sun to unveil desktop remote-access software.

You can get this free right now. I run my home nt
pc from my Ultra Sparc here at work using the
program VNC. It's really quite convenient. I use
it at home to snoop on the kid surfing the net,
fixing problems with the wife's PC in her office and
running my digital video recorder.

One thing of note. The Ultra 5 with a 270 Mhz
processor is much snappier than my NT 400 Mhz
running this software. I guess there is something
to be said for good system design as opposed to
pure processor speed.
