I've often wondered why smaller companies don't just register a Dividend Reinvestment Plan even though they don't pay a dividend, and try to encourage additional purchases from the existing investors. Offering additional shares to existing holders is one great way to avoid having to give discounts to "angels." $250k isn't very angelic, and I bet that the existing shareholders could have matched or bettered that for less vig.
