Well, TI finally got back to me:

Mr. Morton,

Thank you for your interest in TI DSPs. Texas Instruments will be announcing
a new device May 4 at the Embedded Processor Forum. It a low-power device
and a member of the 'C5000 platform. The device is ideal for this type of
application as well as small in size, and memory capable.
