Good to see John Markoff doing something other than chasing Mitnick around :)

<"We're seeing a fundamental shift to the consumerization of network
access and the emergence of network services," said Greg
Papadopoulos, Sun's chief technology officer. >

Does this seem similar to what Novell has been preaching or is it my imagination?

:)

The comsumerization of network resources...nice buzz phrase but it's TRUE. You can slice through all of this and find services or access points which can drive a revenue model. Some depend on bandwidth issues (streaming video and file access) while others depend on security (financial transactions). As companies find ways to fill these roles with hardware and/or software, barriers come down in terms of "doing business".

What will we see in the future? Just about anything you can dream of.... times 2 :)

I-Planet sounds alot like digitalme type stuff so I'd be interested to see how it works and how it's recieved by others. This will be a good "barometer" for Novell's upcoming products.
