To Marginmike: Size and potential. As I mentioned, I prefer equipment suppliers when possible since sales can be to a wide range of operators in related fields. In fiber, finding them has been difficult. Ciena is one - but burned there - temporarily at least. Several large companies such as NT and LU have major fiberoptic supply participation but JDS/Uniphase (when combined) will offer as a "pure play" the most powerful one stop shopping for both passive and active fiberoptics components. This discussion is off topic here of course, but the Q thread is famous for tolerance of wide ranging discussion, no? If you wish to follow up, suggest SI Uniphase thread. Chaz
