Nemer, I appreciate your post, and didn't interpret your opinion as a flame at all--thanks for chiming in!

I buy for me, for a few friends and clients, and for some selected reselling locally and over the internet. For someone with this profile, buy.com has long made more sense than for someone who might just need to nab a couple of items.

I can certainly see your point. In recent months, they have backed away from trying to be lowest at everything, and their minimum shipping/handling prices have never been too hot.

But their pricing of many full retail items below other seller's OEM items, and their shipping charges on large orders (at least to the Northwest) were comically low. EG: last week, I bought a 30 lb full tower, 7 sound cards, a 30 lb speaker system, lots of software, and misc other items and the entire shipping bill was $25--no one else would do it for less than $75, unless they inflated their asking prices to compensate.

If one didn't order back-ordered items, I also found their service and turn-around speed to be exceptionally good.

Would welcome your and other's further thoughts regarding any of this. I'm sure I will be opining away at a later point. :)

Regards,

Dave
