IMPORTANT - re Kosovo Refugees:

To Anthony and all with good info -

Here is a copy of an email I just received from the person sponsoring our volunteer, Dana Moore, on his trip to Skopje in two-three weeks. I know that Anthony is absolutely snowed under, so if anyone else out there can fill in on the CNN question please do. And remember, we are forming a mailing list at:

K_refugees@hotmail.com

Thanks for ANY help. Here is the e-mail requesting information:

Quoting:

"I have shared some of the info from Anthony with a friend who will be at a board meeting later this week with some of the most powerful women politicians/movers/shakers in U.S. She would like to know more about the thing that CNN reports are not correct. Also, anything else Anthony can tell us that she can pass on. These are incredible women who make things happen. Other than sending in ground troops, what does he need."
________

Please help us out here while Anthony heads home. This leads to the financing of a trip where Dana will deliver himself as a volunteer with construction and automotive skills as well as however much humanitarian aid he (and possibly another volunteer) can handle.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ANTHONY for superhuman accomplishments. Let's all see that we get our faxes to the Skopje embassy per Anthony's request.

NOW let's see Dana off - more, including a website, coming up.

Thank you very much,
Raven

Tony, I did get a hold of my friend as I promised to you this afternoon. His Albanian contact in the San Diego area moved out of state, but he will call him for other local Albanians. By tomorrow afternoon I will have some names. By the time you'll arrive with the refugees, we'll have translators. As you know, I am leaving on the 5th and will not be back till the 17th, so you'll have to rely for some help my brother.

Good luck with your activities on the East coast.

Steve

re Kosovar refugees and Anthony --

I am in touch by PM with Anthony, but I know he won't have any time today, so I don't even want to interrupt him by cell phone. Maybe one of you can help me. I'm with the (tiny) bunch sending Dana and now probably a second person to Macedonia in a couple of weeks.

K_refugees@hotmail.com (Am I getting to be a bore? Yes...)

Anthony mentioned that his Dad's travel agency might help us in getting the best fares, and we need all the help we can get. BUT - I don't have the name or phone number of his Dad's travel agency. Can anyone out there send me a PM and provide that and I'll try to go ahead and nail down the flight.

We also need help finding out how to get from Thessaloniki to Skopje. Apparently, it must be overland.

And can anyone provide me with a Skopje phone number from which we could make lodging arrangements on a shoestring budget.

Dana (and probably Dusty, our second volunteer) will be taking in all the supplies they can carry and then donating themselves to do whatever they can. We need all the guidance we can get. Thanks to those of you who have written.

Also - we need the most basic phrases in Macedonian, and there's not enough time left for ordering a book. If anyone has one, please PM me and I'll ask you the most essential phrases. ("I need ____" and "Where is ____" and "Thank you.")

Thank YOU,
Raven
