I think what we should do is divide some of the companies amongst ourselves and call to confirm earnings dates. If we call even 5 companies every Thursday when the earnings plays come, we can have the earnings dates precise on the mark. First Call is the most respected and popular source for earnings dates, but I'm finding that the internets and some 'newer' companies are just not reporting the correct dates and changing their dates. Another thing you should do is follow up all the earnings plays not just the ones that 'hit'.. Follow the ones that go nowhere and have so-so reports, see the difference between these companies 1-4 days before earnings and the blockbusters like CDWC, KSWS etc. Follow also small companies that are not popular and notice how they will spurt right AFTER the earnings report. GALT, ENTU, ACTU, FRWD are some like those. For example CSGS, one of our earnings plays, not a popular stock amongst traders beat the street, was up over 9% on Friday and continues today to acclerate on increasing momentum. So by next season when you see stocks like CSGS and their charts remain intact you will give them increasing attention and that's how I got 'hooked on' both SONE and SDLI from last quarter.
