Don,

I didn't take your post as argumentative at all. I think your observations are very astute. My attempt over the weekend in discussing the patterns that have developed are very much in agreement with what you are saying. I think the upcoming week(s) we will see some piece of news or event that will have an impact on the direction in rates. The news should either help or hurt the IMMEDIATE direction of the markets as a whole. That is why I said I would not want to be on the wrong side of a spike in either direction. Because a spike or sudden move could be exactly what we get.

I think your observations about how they seem to be moving in unison may say something about how close we could be to the news (event) actually happening.
