michael...nice to hear from you...fully aware of the history of rr...the point was that it never filed bankruptcy....

burke said rr as will dell/gtw will fall out of favor for they do not address the needs of a changing market....why enter a market segment that is beneath you, if profit not to be made...vw knew the value of a brand name, so it can move into the lucrative luxury car market with acceptance...your argument is contra to the premise that i questioned...vw bugs were never dismissed on any grounds..for it was a vehicle for the masses, much as henry ford model t....but the masses will and can migrate upwards....be it cars or computers..a computer is not a commodity as most claim...for if it was, why did best buys drop imac...due to some colors not selling well?...a commodity is not effected by color....only price...dell/gtw grow market share...why?????

e-machines a korean company, following the typical korean marketing method of offering below market prices to establish a beach head..didn't work for the much stronger hyundai years ago...probably won't work for e-machines long term... tia, ed a.
