Kent, the Flex companies are still suffering as you know. We all believed that Data Storage in the Server, internet age would be a good growth area, but the industry has suffered as you know form overcapacity and outsourcing to Flex companies has been a yoyo for them. These Flex companies are also very small so any problem like AFLX's recent delays dueto technical problems with their customers causes big disruptions in sales/earnings and cash flow. ALFX is in violation of its bank covenants and lending is at a stand still and they are under financial stress obviously. They are signing notes for some of their obligations. Why these companies don't consolidate is beyond me. But IMO the data storage business will comeback and these companies rebound but it sure has not gone as planned. Many have given up on these flex companies as you know and I can't blame them . There were no questions at AFLX cc and few at SFLX cc so there is very little following anymore. Not the situation we all expected but maybe money is made in adversity which is what we have.

Kent, This should help flex in the future. I saw it on the Disk Drive thread:

"""This is a quote from Sunday's Barrons on a SEG recommendation. "The shift from analog to digital, combined with dramatic increases in bandwidth, provides the means to transmit, store and retrieve larger and larger amounts of data." I'm glad to see the DD industry is finally the recipient of the benefits from increased bandwidth. Communication stocks I follow (but do not own) have gone up from 100% to 150% in the last six months on the hype of the coming bandwidth increases. Conference calls by DD and component makers have eluded to the coming changes as the needs for technological advances they are working on. I am seeing more and more on DSL expansion and cable modem expansions as new fiber networks are expanding the backbone of communications. I think we have good things ahead."""
