Dave6 [there are already 5 Dave's in this stream], welcome to the Q! world. You have entered the realm of The New Paradigm. Many things are different in this world which is being bootstrapped out of nothing on the northern Mesa in San Diego.

To answer your questions:

MightyQ! is to split [2:1] next month.
Net earnings for 1999 will be somewhere around $3, or $5.
All end of 1999 target prices have been blown apart.

Keep in mind that those answers and your questions have nothing whatsoever to do with The New Paradigm or Qualcomm's future. Those things are irrelevant to my investment in Q! Don't use them to help you decide whether to buy or not. Check out the revenue graph since 1986. Check out the market size for CDMA telephones and internet access. Count how much money changes hands in the world and how much email moves around.

Meanwhile, another big selloff in Qualcomm and the price down from the high today as much as I initially paid. 4.5m shares sold, following some very big volumes lately. One of the four biggest volumes ever a few days ago and on an up market for a change.

The fun has begun. This is going to be a very, very, very, very good investment.

Mqurice

Instead of looking back 3 months (an impossible task), you might read the thread for the last several weeks--since the announcement of the deal with Ericcson to sell them the infrastructure division--especially the days just following the announcement. Several posters have put up their forecasts, for what they are worth, of earnings several years out.

as already replied to you, earnings for 99 are pretty much irrelvant to the Q investment decision at this point. Also, analysts' year-end numbers are being quickly made irrelevant. Enough people seem to be concluding that a 30 PE on $20 EPS in 4 years is possible (and you work out the price), that recent price levels have been inadequate. :o).

You might also look at the Gorillas and Kings thread, which has had some discussion on Q's status at the center of wireless development.

Of course, do your own due diligence!
