John, thank you for outlining the many unknowns in the Dell revenue-earnings story. I am in the camp that thinks Dell's target is to regain some of the lost stellar growth reputation it lost last February. I also think that they reached the high end of their target range. I am expecting Kumar's 5.7B to be close in the revenue projection as it was close to the release date on the Dataquest/IDC reports.

I have been following the IBM royalty discussion with a belief that it is real, and with this being the first quarter to reflect it, there should be a real surprise. Still, I am not counting on it, sounds too good to be true.

I am doing my best to restrain my optimism, so let me say that .17 would be quite an achievement by Dell, and I expect no less.

Beyond a SWAG, I would be looking for a seer. (Niles?)
Mike

RE:Terrific report/Thanks-I feel in my intuitive bones that MD & et.al. will do their best to regain the 50% earnings growth mantra of respectability we have all become so greedily used to -Sure we are spoiled -so what!wbm
