Care to make a prediction?

I predict cpq's eminent decline based on their lack of efficiency relevant to Dell, their reliance on service and support for the biz model to work etc. I also think sql server will commoditize the midrange enterprise space whether or not NT completely eclipses unix or linux, and if that happens Dell will creep up the food chain again where cpq lives. I think cpq stock has a ways to fall, but I also thought they would be below $20. now. Rudedog and I don't really agree, and hes a pretty smart guy so who knows, everybody has a prediction.

Do you even know what McKinley refers to? Or what cache coherency is and why that is important in parallel processing and how that plays into the 64bit issues which we were discussing in the context of Microsoft Windows 2000?

Nope and I don't care. McKinley is just another processor I thought. If we are going to go down that path, then why don't you explain the difference between the Oracle MPP architecture vs. whatever sql server has? Or the inherent advantages in NT over about a million unix ports for the software houses? Is that what you think the issue is? Well you are entitled to your opinion, fwiw I think it was a simple case of msft bullying Dell and others into taking IE - and even more importantly, dropping nscp, at a dear cost to Dell who had an entire online store going in navigator at the time, in order to pacify msft.
