the customer belongs to the reseller. Cpq's challenge is to maximize the advantage of the reseller. It is usually a local entity and can adapt to local conditions. CPQ should encourage adaptation over national or worldwide campaigns. CPQ can't whip Dell at Dell's game, but it can play it's own game better and probably whip the white box makers. It would be to CPQs advantage to have more niches and grades in the PC business, while a commodity strategy would play to Dell's strength. TP
