Pyr Energy has interest in over 100,000 acres in the area. The 10% working interest they have in East Lost Hills, half of which is carried as they were one of the companies to the generate the prospect, is the highest of any current or or soon to be ongoing drilling efforts. I live in Denver and just talked to the president of Pyr. He's estimating another two weeks to kill the well, but obviously there are too many variables to predict with certainty. The current plan is to kill the well, plug back to approx. 8000 feet and kick off. He says they are very optimistic about the prospect simply because for the pressures to remain high this long after the blowout is a good indication of a large reservoir. Also, they only penetrated the first of 5 potential pay zones when the blowout occurred.
