Excellent comment, and much appreciated. I'll ensure that Gretchen is made aware of it.

There are a number of tech sector companies that endeavour to mask their problems with guile and cunning. IBM under Gerstner is among the better examples of this. I sincerely hope that he is still around to take the heat when the chickens come home to roost.

Sooner or later, someone will show me why a company that has provided virtually no growth for three years has seen its stock price rise 400% in that same time period. Must be the new paradigm. (g)

Bill, IBM is buying back shares. Who care that their business doesn't grow? After all, the internal rate of returm is about one sixth of a T-Bond yield. That deserves 33 times eps. <g>
