Wind River Announces Additional Stock Repurchase Program

ALAMEDA, CALIF. (April 26) BUSINESS WIRE -April 26, 1999--Wind River Systems (Nasdaq: WIND), today
announced that its Board of Directors has authorized an increase of up to $25 million of additional stock
repurchases.

"Based on current market prices, we believe that the additional repurchases are a good investment of available
funds," said Ronald A. Abelmann, the company's President and CEO.

The repurchases will be made from time to time on the open market at prevailing market prices or in negotiated
transactions off the market. These repurchases, which will be made in addition to the company's ongoing
repurchases of $4.0 million per quarter, are expected to continue through the end of the current fiscal year unless
extended or shortened by the Board.
