EBay beats Wall Street by 3 cents

Online auctioneer's sales grow more than fivefold

NEW YORK (CBSMW) -- Shares of EBay surged 2.9 percent in after-market trading Monday following the company's quarterly report, which beat analysts' projections on just about every metric.

Shares of EBay jumped 6 to 215 on Instinet. Ahead of the release, EBay had gained 8 7/8 to close at 209.
