George, no, I do not like the letter "c" where it does not belong. According to my dictionary, a certain Sir Henry Shrapnel(1761-1842) was the inventor of an artillery shell "filled with an explosive charge and many small metal balls, designed to explode in the air over the objective." Hence the name. No mention of any Baron Heinrich Schrapnel. Since I am not semitic, I guess that makes me aryan. (Actually, I could be black, or oriental, or mixed breed...)
