Thoughts from the Red Herring:

Epigram's technology appears to be a natural fit for Broadcom, a market leader in developing chip technology for home-networking broadband access devices like digital set-top boxes and cable modems. Dr. Henry Nicholas, CEO of Broadcom, says Epigram's leading-edge technology was the hook in getting the companies together.

The jewel in Epigram's portfolio is its iLine chip set designs, which currently support 10 Mbps Ethernet transmissions over standard phone lines without interfering with concurrent voice or DSL data transmissions. The company has also stated that its technology will support transmission speeds of 100 Mbps by the end of the year.
