MSFT, when it invested in Comcast, got the right to demand that Comcast kick ATHM off its cable lines starting soon (I think it is in May). They must have done that for a reason.

I don't think this is true--in fact, I recently came across a Bloomberg article (from this past wknd) that I wanted to post on this thread. Article stated that T was able to get CMCSA/K and COX to waive their rights to drop ATHM (for the time being at least) as part of the deal negotiated recently with T. I don't have the details (not fully disclosed yet), but this is the same deal in which T/TCI must sign up 277,000 ATHM customers in a years' time or cede a certain percentage of its interest in ATHM to CMCSA/K and COX.

T stalled CMCSA/K by locking them into ATHM (for another year, at least) while stealing the bride, UMG. Pretty damn cutthroat of T to do that to CMCSA/K, but biz is biz--there's way too much at stake here.

Apologies, but I tried to locate the article on Bloomberg's WWW site, but it's a few days too old, so I couldn't access it (only displays last 5-10 articles).
