Paul, IMHO - it makes a TON of difference now that Vantis is gone. A few things to consider: - management time will not spend any time thinking about PLDs - now the focus is sharper - sales/apps guys need to support one less product line - more time and focus on the micro market - operations folks need to support one less product line - more focus and consequently improved cost structure As far as focus is concerned, Jerry today is where Andy grove was ten years back - inspite of some of his other shortcomings he will one day be remembered for this (postively or negatively depending on the outcome). Now, as much as like Intel, my concern today is its loss of focus. Focus on microprocessors is what got it to where it is today. Lately, I am wondering if I should consider my Intel position as "source of funds" - next 12 months will determine that. Chuck
