T will be king because MSFT & AOL have no clue about the long distance and local phone markets

Yeah, but they don't care about the phone markets. All they're going to want is broadband cable access into the home (maybe). This is why this has all been so interesting. Sure, Gates made a large investment in Comcast (at least it appeared large to us), but could it be that he knows something we don't? After all, $1B is chump change to Billy G. If he believes so strongly in the future of cable as the broadband medium of the future, why doesn't he just come along and snap up Comcast, UMG, and whomever the hell else he wants? Screw the phone service; he'll make a mint on broadband internet access alone.

Dontcha think?

In any case, I sure am glad I hold UMG shares. Best thing to ever come of US West's sorry existence. With this bidding war going on, I feel like the most popular gal at the dance! (Or at least have a pretty good idea of how she must feel ;))
