I kinda get the sense that ->

A. although GEC has the cash, they don't seem the best suitor;
B. the price is too low at $35.

I don't know if Tellabs or any other company will step up to the
plate but there is something about this acquisition that to me does
not jive with who FORE is.

GEC will tender a firm offer before the end of the week. But I am of
the opinion that if another company wants FORE, they too can make a
bid, but the $35 cash is FORE's leverage. Any other offers have to:

A. exceed $35 cash offer;
B. be made soon (within 5-10 days);
C. be firm (i.e. something that can be publicly announced to recind
GEC's offer).

It would be exciting to see other bid attempts this week. If they do,
I would not be surprised to see $40 cash or $50-$60 in another
company's stock.
