I just wanted to point out the consistency between what is being said in the HDS release this morning:

"The switch is a key component of Hitachi Data Systems' high-end SAN offering, the Hitachi Freedom SAN Solution, that was announced today. The Hitachi Data Systems Freedom SAN Solution is designed to enable companies to pool storage devices in a central location, utilize a common Automated Tape Library (ATL) to back up multiple server locations, and offload data management traffic from the LAN."

and what Ancor says both in their web site and what they told us last year at the shareholders' meeting:

ancor.com

"Data Streaming FacilityTM ensures uninterrupted data path to tape drives and other devices that require a consistent data stream."

"100% non-blocking fabrics keep tape drives streaming even in large systems"

And from my post on last year's shareholders' meeting:

Message 4535094

"3. MKII revenues are negligible at this point, but there are no significant SAN revenues. The current revenues are on the LAN side running class 1(third generation switches). SAN applications are class 3. Class 3 is suboptimal for tape storage devices (but possible). Ken H. thought there might be a migration up classes in the future."

It is always good to remember these things.
