Another breathtaking QCOM option quote.

On today's close, with the stock 203 1/2 - 203 5/8, the QCOM January 2001 $200 (LEAP) call option (ZLUAA) closed at 63 3/4 - 65 3/4.

This option (now) has an intrinsic value of only 3 1/2.

Personally, I'd much rather buy stock on 50% margin (about $102 per share) than get involved with those options ...

Jon.

JK -

To all - new NASDAQ short interest figures out. QCOM -- 8.953 million shares sold short (as of 4/15/99) vs. 8.292 million shares sold short (as of 3/15/99).

Yes but what actually does this mean in practice. I mean look at today. What good have the shorts done themselves and what happened to the holders of these 8.9m shorts today?

I have never understood this. Aren't these people being very severely burned? And aren't they going to get burned even more badly as the weeks go on. I mean with all the good news just beginning to filter out aren't some of these people going to get wiped out when the market begins to realize tha the earnigs are going to be substantially better than any of the analysts realize today and we are only just now beginning to find this out? These short holders are going ot get buried.

Kind regards,

L

jon - where did you get this info? it is my understanding that short interest figures are released by the exchanges only on a month-end basis. i cannot find any new figures. i'd expect friday 4/30 or the following monday to see new short interest numbers.
