I want to skydive on my birthday. She doesn't want me to. I did this in the service, and all I can say is DO IT!!! I guarantee that nothing short of a direct shot of lightning to the noggin will wipe out the memory. Remember your first beer? Your first, ah, girlfriend? Your first winning bet at the track? The moment you realized FORE was halted? Add all those together, multiply by a thousand, and you're still short of the feeling you'll get. As for your wife: first (civilian) jumps are tandem jumps and no one ever augers-in that way. :-)
