J.C.: C'mon....lighten up on the guy. If I can learn to be less abrassive...so can you! If you take a look at what occured with Fore and apply the same rationale...3com certainly could sell well past the 80's and possible in the 90-100 range. Presently...the whole segment of the networking mkt is in...what I would call...a realignment. This certainly is going to affect the future strategy of Cisco and others and believe me, they along with us are keeping a close eye on pending
repositioning of the mkt. Don't be so overly confident that Cisco will
remain on top...it may appear so at present but events could very well
cause a drastic change. Cisco mgmt is not immune from making a wrong
decision...it is a tough job in upper level mgmt and one wrong move
can bring shareholder value down quite quickly...so don't gloat...what happened to Benhamou can happen to Cisco. I don't know where you are located...somewhere outside CA most likely. Silicon Valley certainly is where the cutting edge of Technology began and still maintains a considerable number of "electronic wizards"! Visit the area...it is not as bureaucratic as you proclaim! I've lived and worked in California and it is a fast track environment and offers quite a bit of opportunity and advancement to those who like the pace.

Regards,
HKirby

I can't tell you how many times I have herd the same commodity talk about Intc over the years and look at what Intc has done for shareholders. And may I add Intc has had the same type of boom bust cycles as coms. Bottom line this industry is still in a mega growth stage and the market is still young and huge. Coms is large enough to prosper in this environment despite of management.

Well, look at the numbers ... Cisco has a hefty PE ratio and Coms, well let's just say it's barely on the radar screen. I've read about the hefty price on URSX for a while now. Let's just say the that not every member in the jury is on board with that assessment. The real question is of the two who is positioned in the markets that will matter 5 years from now.

As to the crack crack. No, that's not my thing. But you might consider it to expand you mind, vision, horizon's and....
