Hewlett-Packard Cuts Some OmniBook Prices By Up To 17.5%

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Hewlett-Packard Co. (HWP) lowered prices by up to 17.5% for the HP OmniBook 900 and the HP OmniBook 4150 notebook personal computers.

In a press release Monday, the company said the price reduction is designed to maintain the "price advantage" over comparable Compaq Armada systems.

Hewlett-Packard said the OmniBook 900 notebook with a Pentium II 366MHz processor, 6.4GB hard drive, 32MB RAM and a 12.1-inch SVGA display will sell for about $2,899.

The OmniBook 900 with a Pentium II 300MHz processor, 4.3GB hard drive, 32MB RAM and a 12.1-inch SVGA display will sell for $2,399.

The 4150 notebook with a Pentium II 300MHz processor, 6.4GB hard drive, 64MB RAM, 14.1-inch TFT display and a 24X CD-ROM drive will sell for about $2,999.
