A few months ago, Sharky Extreme reported that Metabyte had a new technology that allowed two videocards to link together in an SLI-like manner. The reporting was filled with speculation that the TNT2 cardmakers would be using this technology to make extreme versions of their cards that would far surpass anything available. I'd been reading Sharky's site for a while and bought into the hype a little at the time (you can see it in my posts and Chip was the most sceptical at the time). I later had more time to research and think about the technology and decided it wasn't a big deal after all.

Well, the "user" of the technology has just been reported on. Alienware (a gaming PC OEM - fiarly small) has licensed the technology so that they can exclusively use it for their PC's. Voodoo3 is actaully mentioned as a good possibility here.

Yawn. More hype while 3dfx executes.
