Hey folks. Forget the JV partners, this is where it's at... <ggg>

-----------------------------------------------------------
A sale of oil and gas leases on federal lands will be held in Bakersfield on Thursday, June 3. The Bureau of
Land Management will accept competitive bids on 53 parcels in four California counties, totaling 52,882.78 acres. Thirty-five parcels are in Kern County and the remaining 18 parcels are in Kings, Monterey and San Luis Obispo counties.

The parcels will be offered to the highest acceptable bidder. The minimum acceptable bid is $2 per acre, with leases issued for a primary term of 10 years. Parcels not receiving bids at the competitive sale will be available for noncompetitive leasing for two years beginning June 4.

The lease sale will begin with oral bidding at 9 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Select Convention Center Hotel, 801 Truxtun Ave., in Bakersfield. The sale room will open at 8 a.m. for registration. All bidders must register and obtain a number before bidding.

A detailed notice of the lease sale containing parcel descriptions, acreage, lease terms and conditions, oral bidding procedures and requirements, and other sale information may be purchased for $5 from the BLM-California State Office in Sacramento, or the Bakersfield Field Office.
